Makati is the premier city district of Manila, Capital of the Philippines. Heart of Business and Entertainment in the city, it is a melting pot of various cultures and nationalities. The main traditional residential areas are Legaspi and Salcedo Villages although more recently Rockwell and the Fort (Bonifacio Global City) have been developed to provide a variety of alternative modern inner city living options which blend quiet living with a bustling international lifestyle. Scattered throughout the area are the gated villages of Bel-Air, San Miguel, Urdaneta and San Lorenzo for those seeking a more secluded home. Despite the widespread facilities, Makati is compact and easy to navigate with taxis widely available at all times of the day.
